Thea Barfoed has come out of rehab. Upon doing so, she wants her two sons back in her life. Due to her sense of charm, her ex husband gives her a chance. Thea is doing great. Just then, as she gets back to acting, Thea is tempted with the old lifestyle. She now has to make a choice between living her old life and living a new life with her sons.

She comes to a breaking point and is committed to die before choosing something else beside her sons. Her ex husband's eyes are always on her, too, which doesn't make it any easier.

Applause is a 2009 music movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 25 minutes. It has received mostly positive reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 7.1.
