In the early frontier, the greatest commodity was cattle. Like any other valuable commodity, cattle were smuggled for profit across territorial lines. Marshal Tremaine is a man sworn to uphold the law while working in cattle ranching territory. When he uncovers a smuggling circuit, all eyes are fixed on his position.
