As soon as Cherry Douglas is released from foster care, her ex boyfriend attacks and assaults her. In response, the tortured young woman goes on a quest to discover who she is. She seeks the guidance of a psychologist, a priest, and a teacher, but finds only platitudes there. It isn't until she thinks to look in the least logical of places, the blind old man who altered the authorities during her assault, that she learns what her path must be.
