Daya and her mother Berlian are running away from political violence. Daya often daydreams that her father will someday return. Her mother is stern and it annoys Daya. The mother and daughter pair are forced to leave their seaside home and move to the desert. While in the wasteland, Daya sees a familiar face moving toward them.
